PROJECT # 1.

Academic Exchange projects:

Activities for 2008:

  1. Trip to Lithuania for Affiliation Agreement Signing
  2. Visiting trip from KUM to UCONN, School of Medicine and School of Dental Medicine
  3. Trip to MIT – to sign the project for participation in Open house, Fall 2008
  4. Initiation of new project between Polytechnical University in Kaunas and Technical
    Universities in New England (Worcester) as a part of “Global Studies” project
  5. Initiation of new project between Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
    and
    Polytechnical University in Kaunas
  6. Exploration of collaboration opportunities between UCONN School of Business, CCSU
    Institute of Technology and Business Development, International Studies and Baltics

PROJECT #2

Collaborative projects:

  1.  Physicists from Vilnius & Kaunas, Lithuania with Companies in CT
         Nufern,
         TRUMPF
         CCAT (Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology)
  2. Extension of collaboration with other companies in MA and other areas of New England

Activities for 2008:

  1. Visiting trip from Lithuania to CT, including participation at the conferences listed below
  2. Invitation of Lithuanian representatives to NALI Conference April 2008
  3. Invitation of Lithuanian representatives to Lasers conference, Spring 2008
  4. Organization pre-conference and post-conference workshops and meetings

MEDI 2008 participation

Activities:

  1. Baltic Pavilion design and formation
  2. Invitation of Biomedical Devices Manufacturing and Engineering companies from BALTICS
  3. Collaboration with Consulates – Invitation of representatives from Economic Development Agencies
  4. Organization of Pre-conference meetings
  5. Organization of Post-conference workshops
  6. Summary of the participation at the event - a brochure
  7. Article for media/newspaper

PROJECT #4

Cultural and Business trip to BALTIC countries:

                    R, Krisst-Krisciokaitis, Ch. Shimkus

Activities:

  1. Advertisement of cultural events in Baltics, such as Song Festival in Ryga, and events in Lithuania and Estonia (July 2008)
  2. Selection of group participants (15 – 18 people)
  3. Collaboration with Consulates and Travel agencies
  4. Schedule of the trip
  5. Arrangements of the schedules during a stay in Baltic countries
  6. Organization of meetings for cultural, business, and other type of collaboration purposes
  7. Summary of the trip - a brochure
  8. Article for media/newspaper
